Map of Western Turkey

On the Europe side, Turkey borders Bulgaria and Greece.  Our journey took us from Istanbul east to Ankara (the capitol) then to the central area of Cappodocia.  We then traveled over the Taurus mountains south to Konya, then Antalya.  We then went along the Mediterranean Sea, the Aegean Sea and gradually to Canakkale on the Marmara Sea.  From there we crossed the Dardanelles strait (via ferry boat) to the Gallipoli peninsula, and then finally back to Istanbul.
