JACOB BRADY PASSES AWAY
Yardmaster For D & H Retired Year Ago

   Jacob Bertels Brady, retired Delaware & Hudson Railroad yardmaster died this morning at 6:10 at his home 197 Madison street, city.

   He was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus at Oneonta, N.Y., where he lived nine years during the course of his railroad career.

   Mr. Brady lived in this city all of his life excepting the period of residence at Oneonta and was employed 47 years by the Delaware and Hudson.  He retired a year ago.

   Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late James and Lena Bertels Brady.  His father was a tipstaff in the courtroom of the late Judge Henry A. Fuller.

   Mr. Brady was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and its  Holy Name Society.

  Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Dowling; two sons, James and John Brady of Wilkes-Barre; eight grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Anna E. Norris of Lake Carey, former principal of Carey Avenue grade school; Mary and Omahlee Brady, Forty Fort, and a brother, A. W. Brady, Kingston.

   The funeral will be held from the Brady residence 197 Madison Street.

He was buried in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lot No. 441, Section A, graves 2 and 3 (reserved for his wife).
